A borescope is a device that allows the user to look inside of a tubular object such as a small pipe. A borescope is a device that magnifies the interior of the object and if equipped with a camera, allows the user to record the condition of an interior wall. The above photograph was taken of the interior wall and showing a hole in the wall of a copper tube. The tube was a part of a condenser tube bundle located within a large tonnage air conditioning unit. Using a borescope to locate and verify the presence of the hole helped answer the question of whether the hole was caused by a freezing condition.
