Applica Consumer Products has recalled approximately 9,800 Black & Decker thermal coffemakers.  The coffemakers can overheat and melt posing a burn hazard to consumers. The recall involves the eight cup, programmable coffemaker, model # TCM10001KT. The model number is printed on a plate on the bottom of the unit. The coffemakers were made in China and sold by Wal-Mart and other retail stores nationwide between April 2008 and July 2009.  For further information, visit Applica's website at www.acprecall.com .

DVD Player:

Wal Mart Stores are recalling 1.5 million DVD players due to a fire hazard. The units were manufactured in China under the Durabrand name for Wal Mart. When in use, the DVD players have a tendency to overheat and burn. Although no model or serial number information has been associated with the players, they are silver in color and  come with a remote control. The CPSC website has a photo of the units. For further information, contact Wal Mart directly at 800-925-6278 or visit the CPSC website at www.cpsc.gov .

Maytag Refrigerators:

Earlier this year, Maytag recalled approximately 1.6 million refrigerators because of a faulty relay that would overheat and pose a fire hazard. An additional 46,000 units with brand names Maytag, Magic Chef, Performa by Maytag, and Crosley have been added to the recall as a result of having been identified as potential hazards. This recall includes side-by-side units with model numbers begining with the letters MZ and serial numbers ending with the letters CN, CP, YY, and YZ. Top freezer refrigerators are included if the model numbers begin with CT15G4, CTB152, CTL151, CTM152, CTN151, MTB195, MTB215, MTB245, MTF195, PTB155, PTB175, PTB195, AND PTB215. In addition the serial numbers must end in CA, CC, CE, CG, ZB, ZD, ZF, and ZH. Paccar is recalling 3,056 Kenworth and Peterbilt vehicles equipped with TRW steering shafts. Mislocation of a circumferential weld has resulted in the separation of splined and nonsplined shafts. If the shafts separate, the driver can lose control and crash.  The recall is expected to begin in August 2009. For further information, owners can contact Kenworth at1-425-828-5400 or Peterbilt at 1-940-591-4196.

Air Bag Inflator:

Honda is recalling 440,000 2001 and 2002 Civic, Accord, and Acura vehicles as a result of a fauty air bag inflator. If the driver's air bag deploys, it is possible to over inflate resulting in rupture. It is also possible for metal fragments to pass through the airbag material resulting in injury to the driver and other occupants. The recall is expected to begin in August 2009. Honda's campaign numbers are Q96 for the Accord and Civic, and, R13 for the Acura.
