Volkswagen is recalling the following vehicles, 2001-2004 Audi A6, 2002-2003 S6, and 2003 RS6 equipped with 4.2 liter engines, manufactured between June 19, 2001 and June 8, 2004. The problem with these vehicles involves a plastic material used in the fuel tank rollover valve. With time, and stress the rollover valve nipple can crack and leak fuel. The leaking fuel can pose a fire hazard. Owners of any of these vehicles should return their vehicles to their dealers. The dealers will in turn reinforce the nipple or repair the crack. Volvo:
Volvo is recalling 2010-2011 XC90 vehicles manufactured between January 29, 2010 and August 16, 2010. Power steering fluid has been found to leak form the oil pipe connection at the stearing gear valve housing causing loss of steering control and increasing the risk of a crash. Owners of the recalled vehicles should return the vehicles to their dealers for repair. Dealers will replace the oil pipes on the power steering rack free of charge. Daimler Trucks:
Daimler Trucks is recalling 2009-2011 Freightliner, Cascadia, Century, Columbia, Coronado, M2, and Western Star 4900 trucks. All of the trucks were manufactured between February 19, 2009 and July 9, 2010. In addition, all the trucks were equipped with DD13 and DD15 engines assembled with a Bosch high pressure fuel pump. The pump can develop a crack and leak fuel. This recall is an expansion of a previous recall (Daimler Trucks campaign # 10C-4, NHTSA campaign # 10V-339). Fleetwood RV:
Fleetwood RV is recalling 2011 Bounder, Classic, Southwind, Storm, and Terra Class A motor homes built on a Ford chassis. The vehicles were manufactured between May 4, 2010 and January 26, 2011. The problem with these vehicles is that a wiring harness was routed in close proximity to a heat shield next to the engine exhaust manifold. The wiring harness can come in contact with the heat shield, melt and result in a electrical short and fire. Owners of these vehicles should return them to their dealers for a free repair.
