       Toyota's Latest Recall
                  November                                                                    2011

Toyota has recalled approximately 550,00 vehicles worldwide.  Of those 550,000 vehicles, 447,000 vehicles are in the United States.  Toyota says that the issue is steering related but, the crankshaft is at the heart of the matter.  The affected vehicles are: 2004-2005 Camry, Highlander, Sienna, Solara, 2004 Avalon, 2006 Highlander HV, 2004-2005 Lexus ES330, RX330 and 2006 Lexus RX400H.  The problem stems form the fact that the crankshaft in these vehicles has an inner and outer ring. If the rings become "misaligned", the belt which drives the power steering pump can become detached from its pulley causing steering to become more difficult. Toyota also says that the driver may hear a noise or notice a warning signal on the instrument panel. Owner notification is expected to begin in January 2012. For additional information, owners can visit Toyota's website .
