 Volkswagen Audi Fuel Line Leak
September                                                                                      2011

The National Highway Traffic Safety Admistration (NHTSA) has announced a vehicle recall  by Volkswagen. Volkswagen is recalling its 2011-2012 Audi R8 Spyder vehicles manufactured between May 18, 2010 and June 22, 2011. The purpose of the recall is to correct a fuel line problem which could result in fuel leakage and possible fire. The fuel line was installed in close proximity to an engine compartment heat shield. The line could rub against the heat shield and create a fuel leak. The fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source could cause a fire to occur. Dealers will inspect the lines and make necessary repairs free of charge. For further information, owners can contact Audi by calling 1-800-822-2834.

Heat from the catalytic converter can melt the power steering hose and cause fluid to leak. Power steering fluid that makes contact with the catalytic converter can ignite, posing a fire hazard. Dealers will inspect the hoses and make necessary repairs, free of charge. For further information, owners may contact Chevrolet by calling 1-800-630-2438.
