The Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a safety bulletin concerning Lasko Box Fans. Approximately 4.8 million units have been recalled as a result of a problem with the fan's motor. An electrical failure within the motor can cause it to ignite and burn. The recall specifically pertains to box fans with the following model numbers: 3720, 3723, and 3733. Lasko also makes box fans under the "Galaxy" brand name. Galaxy box fans with the model number 4733 and stamped with the date code 2002-03 or 2003-04 are also involved in this recall. Photographs of the fans are shown on the CPSC website and can be seen by going to http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml11/11183.html Owners should stop using the fans and contact Lasko for a free fused plug safety adapter. For further information, Lasko can be contacted by calling 877-445-1314 or visiting the company website at www.laskoproducts.com .
